White City Fire Department
The Fire Department consists of volunteer First Responders and Firefighters. The First Responders respond to emergency medical incidents. A call to 9-1-1 will dispatch the First Responders and an ambulance. The First Responders will likely arrive at the incident before the ambulance. They are trained and equipped to deal with medical emergencies until the ambulance attendants arrive. First Responders are recertified regularly.
Firefighters respond to fire and other emergencies. They are also dispatched from a 9-1-1 call. Training is continuous throughout the year and consists of classroom training as well as practical. Training is credited towards certification as Level 2 Firefighter. Firefighting equipment is kept up to date and is checked on a regular basis to be safe and operational. Assistance is available from neighboring Fire Departments when required.
The Fire Department is a committed group who give their time when called as well as for continued training to maintain and improve skills. They are on call 24 hours per day. Volunteers are not always available during an emergency so we need as many volunteers as possible. You may have the skills to contribute to the Fire Department. For more information call Darrell Liebrecht 781-1940 – Fire Chief – White City Fire Department.
