White City Parks and Recreation Committee

The White City Parks and Recreation Committee is a non-profit organization designed to enhance the recreational opportunities for all members of our community. The volunteer committee overseas funding from the Southeast Connection for Culture, Recreation and Sport, Sask Lotteries, RM of Edenwold and the Town of White City as well as through our own fundraising. This funding has been used to run a number of events such as Mobile Playground and the Watermelon Walk/Run. These funds have also been used to construct the Splash Park, Skate/BMX Park and several play structures.  The Committee also oversees the publication of the White City Community Directory.

Member groups include: Dance, Ringette, Playschool, White City Library Board, Drama, Prairie Minor Football Association, and others.  Saskatchewan Lotteries Grant funding is obtained yearly and distributed to various group members.

The Committee has three executive positions as well as representatives from all the various groups.  Members at Large make up a good portion of the Committee.  Anyone who is interested in promoting and being involved in local recreational initiatives should feel free to contact and/or join the Committee.  Meetings are informal and held monthly.  It is a great way to be involved in the community and have a finger on the pulse of recreational opportunities for all residents.
