EMERALD CREEK Road slurry sealing - July 2025

In July, Public Works will tackle a slurry seal project on Emerald Creek Road. The project is scheduled for July 9 to July 13, 2025.

UPDATE (July 10, 2025):

All residents parked in the Phase 2 zone will need to move their vehicles out of the area by 8:30 am on Friday, July 11, 2025. Residents can park in Phase 1 once the barricades are removed, or park in the designated alternate parking areas.

----------

UPDATE (July 9, 2025):

Residents in Phase 1 of the road repair zone: Please do not run irrigation systems or water your front lawn for 24 hours after the slurry seal has been applied, to allow proper drying.

This same request will apply to Phase 2 residents when slurry seal work begins in their zone on July 11. The slurry seal must be allowed to dry for 24 hours after application.

The Emerald Creek road repair project is anticipated to be completed, and all roads reopened, at noon on Sunday, July 13.

A few key points:

♻️ All Emerald Creek residents must have their recycling bins out prior to 6:45 am on July 9 for Loraas pickup.

🛑 Once the fresh oil is down, it must dry for 24 hours. During this time, residents will not be able to access the road, so please avoid scheduling deliveries, home service repairs or maintenance during the anticipated construction window.

🚧 Residents will need to make alternate parking arrangements. While Phase 1 is being completed, residents can park in the Phase 2 area or in the alternate parking area. During Phase 2, residents can park in the Phase 1 area or in the alternate parking area.

Regina Bypass - May 21, 2025

Please be advised that Regina Bypass will start their vegetation management and herbicide spraying program in the upcoming weeks, weather permitting. As in previous years, the herbicide application will be applied to control weeds and to allow newly seeded grass to establish itself.

In some of the work areas, motorists may be subject to temporary lane closures and reduced speeds. To ensure the safety of team members and the traveling public, please remember to slow down when traveling through construction zones.

As part of the seeding and spraying program, the Bypass Team will ensure the following requirements are met:

  • Prior to vegetation management on any highway right of way, residents with off premise dwellings within 30 metres from the point of application will be contacted for consent
  • Signage will be posted, no less than 48 hours before, at the start and end of each area indicating vegetation management work and herbicide application
  • Signage will be removed no sooner than 48 hours after the herbicide application is complete
  • All pesticide applicators shall hold an industrial applicator’s licence
  • The herbicide products being used are Trillion and Perimeter II.

Updated information on the seeding and herbicide spraying program will be posted at reginabypass.ca
