In accordance with Bylaw No. 695-23, The Community Standards Bylaw, recreational vehicles can only be parked in the front yard between April 1 and October 31 of each year. During this time, RVs must be parked a minimum of two meters from the curb unless it is being loaded or unloaded.
From November 1 to March 31 RVs are not permitted to be parked in the front yard unless they are ten meters or more from the front property line.
What is a recreational vehicle?
Under The Community Standards Bylaw, a recreational vehicle is any type of vehicle, portable structure, or watercraft that is made for travel or fun. It can be driven, towed, or carried on another vehicle or trailer. This includes things you might use for camping, boating, or off-road activities.
Examples of recreational vehicles include (but are not limited to):
- Motorhomes
- Travel trailers
- Fifth-wheel trailers
- Tent trailers
- Truck campers
- Boats
- Canoes
- Kayaks
- All-terrain vehicles (ATVs)
- Jet skis
- Any other similar vehicle used for recreation
Note: Snowmobiles are not considered recreational vehicles under this bylaw.

Rules for Parking Recreational Vehicles in Your Front Yard
You are allowed to park recreational vehicles in your front yard only between April 1 and October 31 each year.
- If you're parking your recreational vehicle for more than a quick load or unload, it must be parked at least 2 metres away from the curb.
- You cannot park recreational vehicles in the front yard during the winter months.
- Exception: You can park a recreational vehicle in the front yard between November 1 and March 31 if it is parked at least 10 metres back from the front property line.
- You can have no more than two recreational vehicles parked in your front yard at the same time.
