The Town plans to install a pump track by Fall 2026 to offer a new youth-oriented recreation amenity that provides a safe space for youth to enjoy biking and other wheeled activities. A pump track is a purpose-built track with features like rollers and banked turns designed to be ridden by “pumping” rather than pedaling or pushing.
Following community engagement, Council has decided to install the Town's new modular pump track at Serbu Park. You can review the mock design and information about the approved location below.
A sponsorship package to support the project will also be released in the coming weeks for businesses and community partners interested in contributing.
Design
Below is a mock design of the proposed configuration. A key benefit of a modular pump track is its flexibility. The layout is flexible and components can be adjusted, rearranged, or reconfigured to better suit the chosen site and user experience. As the community grows and changes over time, the pump track can adapt and move to continue meeting recreational needs.

Location: Serbu PArk
At the Regular Council Meeting on Monday, July 20, Council reviewed feedback from the public engagement survey and approved Serbu Park as the primary location for the pump track. A minimum 40-metre setback from adjacent property lines will be maintained to help reduce potential impacts on nearby residents.
A total of 114 residents shared their feedback, with 51% selecting Serbu Park as their preferred location. The next highest choice (Federal Park) received 13% of the vote.
Council considered the survey results alongside several factors that make Serbu Park a strong fit:
- A central, accessible location connected by existing pathways
- An established recreation hub with a skate park, playground, ball diamonds and open space
- Existing parking and washroom facilities
- An opportunity to support nearby local businesses
- A space that can be enjoyed by riders of different ages
The decision also aligns with the Town's Parks and Recreation Master Plan, which recommends enhancing Serbu Park with cycling-related recreation opportunities.
The modular pump track can be relocated in future years if community needs change. However, Serbu Park will remain the primary location unless Council directs otherwise. Maintaining a consistent location provides certainty for residents, helps establish the pump track as a recreation destination, and avoids unnecessary annual transportation and installation costs.
