- Orientation Services For Newcomers (OSN): The Orientation Services for Newcomers (OSN) program supports newcomers to meet their settlement needs, gain knowledge of life in Canada, understand how to access IRCC/non-IRCC funded programs, and adapt/ integrate into the community. OSN offers programming that collaborates and incorporates newcomer, indigenous and Canadian perspectives in regular services.
- Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP): The Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) helps newly arrived government-assisted refugees (GARs) resettle in Regina. Our Settlement workers provide support and essential services for the immediate needs of refugees.
- Settlement Support Workers in Schools (SSWIS): Our Settlement Support Workers in Schools (SSWIS) program is a free school-based outreach program. It connects newly arrived families to services and community resources to promote settlement and encourage student achievement in schools. SSWIS workers help build positive and open communication between family, school, and community.
- Welcoming Community for New Comers (WCN): The Welcoming Community for Newcomers program is a free program that helps newcomer individuals or families become familiar with their community and establish supportive social networks. The program aims to help newcomers become thriving members of their community, meet new people in Regina feel welcome and at home in Regina.
- Translation and Interpretation Program (TIP): The Translation and Interpretation Program (TIP) works with volunteer interpreters to provide interpretation services to newcomers with limited English proficiency. Volunteer interpreters help break language barriers for immigrant and refugee newcomers.
- Temporary Foreign Worker program (TFW): A new project designed to support Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) in need is now active across the Prairie Provinces. The aim of this Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) funded project is to establish a coordinated approach to meet the unique needs of TFWs, with a focus on increasing migrant workers’ awareness and understanding of their rights and responsibilities, empowering them to exercise their rights by assisting them to access services available to them.
- Volunteer Program: All newcomers begin to rebuild their life, and many succeed. But some, especially refugees, find it particularly challenging to adapt to their new community. Meeting new people and participating in the community makes it easier to “feel at home”.
